36x36, acrylic ink on wood panel

This series depicts Belitz's life in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. She is interpreting her rural neighborhood and landscape using her legendary use of detailed marks, often created with a fountain pen. The Ponderosa Pines and Cottonwoods are like lace, each mark, each curl of ink adding to the delicate creation of the piece as a whole. This piece incorporates "Thought Lines" through the mountains behind the small village of Amalia, connecting our human world to the one above. These works are incredibly intricate and fascinating, full of hidden animals and stories. They seamlessly cross through Eastern, Southwestern and Nordic aesthetics.
