Peace 16x23.5, 26x33 framed

War 14x22.5, 24x32 framed (pastel, diptych not sold seperately)

18x26 image, 28x36 framed pastel

These pieces represent an event that happened during the Gulf War where a wedding party was bombed. They show the artist's calm and grateful appreciation for tulips in a vase and her feeling after hearing about the tragedy on the news.

It is an unusual opportunity to acquire a diptych from Nes, much less this affordably.

Nes is one of the most established New Mexico artists represented at magpie. She has been my friend, neighbor and great inspiration since I was born! Margaret Nes has called the mountains of Northern New Mexico her home since 1969.
Her use of pastel is bold and powerful. Often blended onto the paper with her fingers, the rich pastel saturates the surface.
Nes's work has been exhibited in numerous juried and invitational shows and is in collections around the world.  The sensitive manner in which she interprets the world around her through her art is a gift to each viewer and collector.
