Belitz combines skilled drawing and painting techniques with printmaking and collage in these richly beautiful and sometimes haunting works. Often her commentary is deep and magnificently poignant, wading into the murky waters of regret, isolation and the pursuit of finding one's place in the world. Originally from the Netherlands, Belitz fell in love with New Mexico while completing the MFA program at UNM in Albuquerque. It took her many years to make it back, but now she is home in the mountains North of Taos. Her visual landscape and expansive views inspire her work alongside her emotional landscape. Belitz creates powerful work that resonantes on many levels.
